ST. ANNE's GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL, DABUL: LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

St. ANNE'S GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL, DABUL: LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM
August 23, 2012: Forty Leaders of St. Anne's Girls' High School, Dabul, took part in a Leadership Program 'Leading By Values' that was organized by AVEC in their school auditorium. Sr. Romana., principal of the school, was keen that their young leaders be given a Value based Leadership Training Program. The two Value Education Coordinators, Ms. Candida Rodrigues and Ms. Narmata Gupta made all the necessary arrangements for a smooth Leadership Program. Thanks to them.
Mr. Rochwyn Fernandes, AVEC Coordinator, began the session with a Prayer Song 'Sarwesham Swastir Bhavatu' invoking God's blessings for Abundance, Peace, Fullness, Health, Joy into the hearts of the young leaders. He then introduced Fr. Glenford Lowe, Director of AVEC, to the Leaders. Fr. Glenford invited the young budding leaders to begin their Leadership journey by making a 'Leadershift' from some preconceived notions to a better understanding of Leadership. Using the poem by Jonathan Reed, 'Youth: Lost Generation' at the U@50 Competition, Fr. Glenn said, "Reverse your thoughts and change your world". Good Leaders are people of a Higher Word, Act Differently and Think Creatively!
Through a whole new set of reflections and insights, coupled with interactive games, the Young Leaders were asked to 'Lead their Lives' by Ten-Value-based Leadership principles: Begin with a Clear Self Awareness, Be focused on a Vision, Planning as an Important Strategy, Synergize in Teams, Be Creative along the Way, Face Obstacles head on, Delegate Responsibly, Work with the Clock in mind, Daily Renewal and Leave a Lasting Legacy always!

At the end of the session, Student Shraddha proposed the Vote of thanks, while Surabhi presented a token of appreciation to Fr. Glenn.

A few representatives from each class wrote their impressions of the session in the AVEC log book:
