St. MARY'S HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL - MHOW

ST. MARY'S HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL - MHOW
Teachers' Value Orientation Program - September 29, 2013
For the first time, a Value Orientation Program was held for 65 Teachers at St. Mary's Higher Secondary School - MHOW. Thanks to Sr. Elsa Gonsalves, Principal of the school,  for going out of her way to ensure that the AVEC team could animate the session "Management By Values' (MBV) for the Teachers of the school. In spite of being a Sunday, and more so in the afternoon, from 1.00 - 5.30 pm, the teachers participated very actively in the entire session. Sr. Elsa, warmly welcomed the guest speakers. Floral bouquets were also presented.
The session began with a prayer song followed by a fantasy meditation that was conducted by Mr. Rochwyn Fernandes. He also invited the teachers to have a look, during the break time, at the various AVEC resources. Fr. Glenford took the next few hours guiding the teachers through the whole process of Managing their Lives by Values. He focused on the importance of having a perspective change. He drew their attention to the importance of Values that in fact, bring about a 'Qualitative change' in one's self and that would trigger a ripple effect int eh lives of students, school, family and society at large.
Through the use of a Powerpoint presentation, a lot of daily life examples coupled with humor and deep insights the teachers spent the four hours in useful reflection and soul searching too. A number of teachers wrote their comments in the AVEC appreciation log book:
“The greatest distance on the world is just 14 inches from the mind to the heart. It’s most difficult to manage the balance between them, but not impossible. Change your attitude and the world will change. Choose your expression of words very carefully cause they can make a difference. Thank you for your inspiring words. You have awakened and enriched our lives. We are grateful. God bless you and may He guide you in all your endeavors” – Miss. Sandra Brown
“Thank you Father, for changing our world upside down. Now I will start thinking outside the box. I will focus to give more values to my children. In school also, I will inculcate values in my students. ‘Word is life’. I will follow the word of the Lord” – Gunjan Daniel
“Thank you father, for helping us to see the things differently, and in a positive way too. This will help us at home and school. Values are really the most important” – NahidaParveen

“Thank you for guiding us to see the importance of words and moral values in life. This will help us to inculcate the same moral values in our life” - Viviya
“I want to sincerely thank you form the bottom of my heart for the ‘WORD’ which you gave us. I am sure there in now a hope for change, in myself and my students too, by changing my words and enriching their lives with values. Thank you” – Monalisa Pal
“God has blessed so many lives through you. May the Almighty bless you with good health and happiness. May God keep you under his loving care today and every day. Thank you for sharing your experience and beautiful thoughts. We are inspired” – Vijay Khandelwal

Congratulations and thanks to all the teachers and Sr. Elsa and the community of MHOW for their kind hospitality and arrangements all through the days of the seminars. Be blessed and thanks once again.
