ST. AGNES HIGH SCHOOL – BYCULLA:
STUDENTS’ VALUE ORIENTATION
July 13, 2012: Over two hundred
and fifteen students of Standard Ten, from St. Agnes High School – Byculla,
participated in a Diamond Value
Orientation Program ‘Value Sills for Life: Living by Values’ that was organized by AVEC in the school
hall. The school Principal, Sr. Louisa, welcomed the speakers. Two sessions
were held in order to accommodate the four divisions in one day.
Mr. Rochwyn Fernandes began the
session with a Prayer Song that invited the students to focus on being a
‘Light’ in a darkened world. He then took the students through a silent fantasy
meditation that enabled the students to focus on their breath of life. The
speaker for the day, Fr. Glenn was then introduced to the students.

Fr. Glenn began his session
challenging the students to embark on a
‘MAD’ adventure! “Make a Difference in how you ‘Live Your Life’ and how you
‘Invest in Time’. Everyone is Valued and Loved. Live the originality of your
life in a meaningful and significant way”, he added. He used powerful video
clips, songs with inspiring lyrics, daily life experiences and ‘meaning
questions’ to help the students to imbibe the Twelve Diamond Values in a their
daily lives.
The Vote of thanks was proposed
by Chantelle Mascharenhas, the school Head Girl, and in the second session, Sonali S. Doray appreciated the two
speakers.
The sessions were an eye opener
to many a student and the response to the sessions could be seen in the various
comments that were written in the AVEC log book.
