Don Bosco, Baroda

Don Bosco High School and Junior College Baroda – 28th – 30th August

Fr. Mcanroe and Fr. Leon conducted a three day intense course for the teachers, leaders and catholic students of Don Bosco, Makarpura, Baroda Gujarat.

One the First day, the Fathers invited the teachers to make a decision – whether they wanted to complete the curriculum in class or educate the child holistically. Through questioning and discussion the teachers were oriented into helping their pupils become better individuals. This required that they first become aware of themselves – their likes and dislike, their good qualities and the not so good qualities that they possessed. As the day progressed they were oriented to become good and authentic leaders.

On the second, the Fathers helped the school leaders to come to know themselves. Through activity and discussion, they helped the children understand the nuances of leadership. They helped the leaders understand that to change the world, they had to first change themselves for the better.

The third day was dedicated to orient the Catholic students of the school and college. Frs. Mcanroe and Leon helped the students realize their true vocation – that they are called to be children of God. They told the children that God is always in search of them as he wanted to make them his friends.
It was an enriching experience for both the facilitators and the ones who attended the session.

St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri

St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri - 16th August

Fr. Leon conducted a half day session for the students of St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri.
After leading the students into prayer and meditation Fr. Leon helped the students put into perspective their lives. What were they doing with their lives? Is there any direction? Do they have any goal?

By playing the ‘one direction’ game, he helped the children understand that their life has meaning and they are called to live their life to the full. Taking the example of Mark Zukenberg, the founder of Facebook, he helped the students realise that they need a goal in their life and that anything is possible when we apply our minds to it.

The students presented a vote of thanks at the end of the session.

Karlo Duniya Mutee Mein

Don Bosco Engineering College, Kurla - 14th August 2017
Fr. Leon conducted a one and a half hour session for the 1st year engineering students of Don Bosco Engineering College, Kurla.

Fr. Leon commenced the session by leading the youth into meditation and prayer.  He then challenged the boys to find their calling in life. He told the students that they had a lot of potential in them and that this potential is waiting to be unleashed on the world.

He helped the students take a look at their life. He invited them to play the ‘direction’ game. Drawing out his conclusions from the game he told the students that life is meant to be lived and that one needs goals and direction in life in-order to succeed. Life will challenge, yet we are called to rise up above everything else and conquer life itself.
