Don Bosco High School, Matunga - 10th August 2017

Fr. Leon conducted a one-day retreat for the IX Std. boys of Don Bosco High School, Matunga in the Conference Hall.

The day commenced with Fr. Leon leading the boys into meditation and prayer.  He then challenged the boys to find their vocation. He told the boys that God is constantly in search of them and that he wants to invite them into his vineyard.

He helped the boys take a look at their life. He invited them to play the ‘direction’ game.

In the afternoon the boys were shown the feature film ‘Risen’ which focuses on the call of Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune.

The day ended with Holy Eucharist. The main celebrant for the Holy Mass was Fr. Joaquim Fernandes, the Director of Tej Prasarini.

Retreat to Khandala - St.Agnes High School, Byculla

 Retreat to Khandala - 4th - 6th August

Fr. Leon Rodrigues the director of AVEC and Br. Jeswin Mastan were invited to Khandala to conduct a retreat for the Christian girls of St. Agnes High School at Jesus and Mary Convent, Khandala.

It was three day retreat wherein the girls were invited to know themselves better. Through varied talks, sessions, games and movies they were invited to discern God’s call in their life. Sr. Josefina, RJM also shared her vocation story and asked the girls to be attentive to the voice of the Lord. Br. Jeswin Mastan, who is preparing himself to venture out to the missions of Japan enlightened the girls on the call to be a missionary. Mr. Savio, a youth from DBYS – Don Bosco Youth Services, helped the girls make a choice for the Lord.

The retreat ended with a vote of thanks.

The Avec Team organized a value education session for the students of Don Bosco, Borivli.

The Session for the Catholic students was taken by Fr. Leon Rodrigues while for the non-Catholic students it was Fr. Mylin Noronha who took the session.

Both speakers helped the students understand the meaning of life. They enlightened the students through various presentations, games and videos.

Fr. Leon ended his session with Holy Mass. He stressed that life is beautiful and worth living even though we might go through some very tough times.

At the end of the session a vote of thanks was given by teacher Sailee.
