ST.ANNE'S HIGH SCHOOL- FORT: TEACHERS' ORIENTATION PROGRAM

St. ANNE'S HIGH SCHOOL - FORT: TEACHERS' ORIENTATION
June 16, 2014
Thirty four teachers of St. Anne's High school - Fort, today, had the opportunity to participate in the AVEC 'Management By Values' Orientation program. Mr. Rochwyn Fernandes and Fr. Glenn were warmly welcomed by Sr. Guilhermina Monteiro, Principal of the school. The session began in the school AV Hall. Mr. Rochwyn Fernandes, AVEC Project coordinator began the session by invoking God's blessings on one and all through an interfaith prayer song.  The prayer song set a spiritual tone to the entire session
After the prayer song, the participants were invited to few moments of silence that included a fantasy meditation and a body awareness exercise. The teachers were enabled to calm down, relax and focus on the session ahead. The AVEC activities for 2014-15 were also made know to the teachers. Fr. Glenn was then introduced to the teachers. The AVEC team had been to the school on several occasions before to animate and guide the students on 'Living life Guided by a Value Compass'.
Fr. Glenn's session was divided into three major sections, however, the underlying theme was to enable the teachers to make 'qualitative shifts in their lives' by making the necessary 'value shifts' in life. Through the use of a number of practical everyday anecdotes and enhanced by a creative PowerPoint presentation, the teachers were guided through a four hour session on Management By Values. The teachers were invited to identify their personal Core Values and the institutional Core Values and to plot their values on the Brian Hall-Benjamin Tonna Value map.
At the end of the session, Ms. Kelly Fernandes came forward to propose the vote of thanks.
A few teachers took the time to write their comments in the AVEC log book:
